MEET COACH SANTI

Born and Raised in Coconut Grove
From a very young age, Coach Santiago “Santi” Vidal was immersed in the world of soccer, nurtured by his Argentine family’s passion for the game. Raised in the culturally rich neighborhood of Coconut Grove, Miami, his childhood was marked by vibrant soccer matches viewed with family, fostering a deep love for the sport. His formal soccer journey began at Carver Middle School, where he excelled as a striker, showing early signs of his future in soccer.

Athletic Development and Academic Pursuits

High School and Early Coaching
Santi’s prowess on the soccer field continued to grow through his teenage years. Attending Mast Academy, he achieved the notable accomplishment of making the varsity team as a freshman, playing as a midfielder. Here, he refined his skills in controlling the game’s pace and his strategic play, setting a foundation for his future roles both on and off the field. His high school years were not only about personal development but also about laying the groundwork for his coaching philosophy.

Coaching Career and Philosophy

Post-education, Coach Santi dedicated himself to fostering young talent in Coconut Grove, marking over a decade of influence as a cornerstone of youth soccer in the area. His approach goes beyond soccer skills; he instills values like teamwork, respect, and perseverance. Known for his warm and supportive demeanor, Coach Santi makes training sessions fun and formative, ensuring young athletes enjoy learning and are motivated to return.
